“The audience will connect with the character of Baghi that I play in ‘Drinker Sai'” – Aishwarya Sharma

The film Drinker Sai stars Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma in the lead roles, with the tagline Brand of Bad Boys. Produced by Basavaraju Srinivas, Ismail Sheikh, and Basavaraju Laharidhar under the banners of Everest Cinemass and Smart Screen Entertainments, the film is directed by Kiran Tirumalasetty and is based on real events. Drinker Sai is set for a grand theatrical release on the 27th of this month. In a recent interview, the heroine of the film, Aishwarya Sharma, shared some insights into her character and the film.

– My character’s name in Drinker Sai is Baghi. When I first heard the story, I felt that it was a very strong character. I felt a deep responsibility to portray it authentically. It was challenging as an actress, but I was excited to take it on. I auditioned for this film by performing a few scenes, and when I saw my own performance, I liked it and was cast in the project. I believe the audience will connect with Baaghi’s character.

– My father is a stage actor, and his influence has affected me unconsciously. Since childhood, I wanted to become an artist. Initially, I wanted to be a dancer and a singer. If I hadn’t entered this field, I wouldn’t have considered pursuing any other career. After completing my 12th grade, I moved to Mumbai from Jammu and enrolled in an acting course. Upon finishing the course, I started giving auditions. I had not acted in short films or web series before; I had only appeared in a few advertisements. Now, I am making my debut as the heroine in Drinker Sai.

– Since I am not a Telugu native, I had difficulty with the dialogues. Sometimes, I didn’t fully understand what I was saying. The language was the only challenge I faced during the filming. However, I thoroughly enjoyed acting on set.

– I am happy to work with Hero Dharma. He is very nice and has a completely different personality from his character in Drinker Sai. He has been very supportive, especially when it comes to delivering dialogues. He has also performed excellently in his role as Sai in the film.

– Love is an inseparable part of our lives. We experience love at every stage and in every situation. In Drinker Sai, the audience will witness a beautiful love story. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this project. The film also conveys some meaningful messages, which, if shared now, would spoil the enjoyment of watching them on screen.

– My character, Baghi, will appear innocent but also tough, strict, and somewhat rebellious. I will be portrayed as a medical student. There will also be some fun elements in my character. After watching the trailer and other content, you may have formed an opinion about Baghi. However, once you see the film, you will truly understand the depth of her character. Baghi is quite different from typical heroine roles.

– The songs in our movie have received a great response. I got emotional while listening to the sad song. Music director Sri Vasanth has composed beautiful tracks. There is no comparison between Drinker Sai and Arjun Reddy. Arjun Reddy portrays a classy version of a drinker, whereas our Sai is a more mass-oriented character.

– Our director, Kiran, is a very funny person. He never put any pressure on us during the shooting. We had fun throughout the process. He used to call me “Akka” on set, but when I called him “Anna,” he insisted I call him “Thammuddu.” Kiran believed in my ability to perform this character and was very supportive throughout.

– In our household, we watch a lot of South Indian films, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada movies. These films often have meaningful stories and are made very naturally. I am very happy to be a part of such an industry. Dhanush is my favorite actor, and I recently watched Lucky Baskhar.
