Telugu Cinematographer Niketh Lands Big Break with Rajinikanth’s Dharman
Cross industry collaborations have long been a part of Indian cinema, especially in the cinematography department, where Tamil technicians have frequently worked on major Telugu productions. This time, however, the trend has taken an interesting turn. Telugu cinematographer Niketh Bommireddy has been roped in to handle the visuals for Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Dharman. His inclusion in one of Tamil cinema’s most anticipated projects marks a significant milestone for Telugu technicians working beyond their home industry.
Niketh began his journey with short films before making his feature film debut with Yuddham Sharanam. He later earned appreciation for his work in films such as Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, U Turn, Ante Sundaraniki, and 35–Chinna Katha Kaadu. His transition into Tamil cinema proved equally successful with visually impressive work in Soorarai Pottru, Dragon, and Dude, establishing him as a cinematographer with a distinct visual identity.
Director Ashwath Marimuthu, who previously collaborated with Niketh on Dragon, has once again trusted his creative vision for Dharman instead of opting for a more established name. Backed by Kamal Haasan and headlined by Rajinikanth, the film carries massive expectations across India. If Niketh delivers another standout performance behind the camera, this project could elevate him into the league of the country’s most sought-after cinematographers.
