Suriya wanted to work with Venky Atluri after watching Lucky Baskhar

Kollywood star Suriya made some interesting remarks about director Venky Atluri at the pre-release event of Viswanath & Sons. The actor revealed that watching Lucky Baskhar convinced him that he wanted to collaborate with the filmmaker.

“After Lucky Baskhar, I decided that whatever script he brought next, I would say yes because I was manifesting to work with him,” Suriya said. He added that producer Vamsi later called him and mentioned that Venky had Venkatesh’s dates, but the project being discussed at that time was a completely different biopic.

Suriya’s comments have drawn attention because leading stars usually evaluate a script in detail before committing to a film. His statement reflects the strong impression Lucky Baskhar left on him and the confidence he has in Venky Atluri’s storytelling.
