Shocking opening for Jaya Krishna’s debut
Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, grandson of Superstar Krishna and son of late Ramesh Babu, made his acting debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram. However, the film has failed to generate the expected impact at the box office. Despite initial curiosity surrounding his launch and the involvement of noted technicians like Ajay Bhupathi and GV Prakash Kumar, the film reportedly opened to disappointing collections.
Trade circles believe the biggest setback was the lack of an effective promotional campaign. Apart from a video message from Mahesh Babu, the film had limited pre-release buzz, media interactions, or digital promotions. The weak openings became a major talking point, with reports suggesting that the film underperformed even compared to several debut films without a major film-family backing.
While Jaya Krishna has received some appreciation for his screen presence, critics have pointed to the film’s story, screenplay, and direction as its key weaknesses. With mixed reviews and minimal post-release promotions, Srinivasa Mangapuram is now facing an uphill battle commercially, even as Jaya Krishna’s debut has drawn attention within the industry.
