Savitri is not seen except in that role – Venkaiah Naidu
On the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the great actress Savitri, a grand Savitri Mahotsavam was organized in Hyderabad under the auspices of her daughter Vijaya Chamundeshwari and under the auspices of ‘Sangam Foundation’ Chairman Sanjay Kishore. The birth anniversary celebrations, which were held on a stage beautifully decorated with photos of Savitri, were inaugurated by former Vice President of India Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu by lighting the Jyoti. Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said that the great actress did not die and that she would mesmerize the audience with her wonderful acting skills. He said that in every film of his acting career, only a role was seen, and Savitri was not seen.
MLA Mandali Buddhaprasad, who presided over the program, said that Savitri is a textbook on acting for the film industry, and that out of all the heroines in the film industry, Mahanati is Savitri.
Actors, producers Murali Mohan, Tanikella Bharani, Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Rojaramani, Sivaparvathi, and others participated.
On this occasion, the producers of the film ‘Mahanati’ Priyanka Dutt, Swapna Dutt, writer Sanjay Kishore, and publisher Bollineni Krishnayya were felicitated. On the occasion of Savitri’s 90th birth anniversary, 90 child singers sang the pallavas of Savitri’s songs. Later, documentaries of award winners made on Savitri were screened. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the recently held Savitri song competition. Sanjay Kishore supervised the program.
