‘Sarkar Bai’ First Look Poster Unveiled by Tammareddy Bharadwaja and V.N. Aditya
Hyderabad: The first-look poster of Sarkar Bai, a socially relevant film set against the backdrop of Telangana’s socio-political realities, was grandly unveiled at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad. The film highlights critical issues such as water scarcity, caste discrimination, and the struggles of marginalized communities. Renowned filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja and Telugu Directors’ Association President V.N. Aditya attended the event as chief guests and officially launched the poster, extending their best wishes to the film’s team.
The film stars Sriram Nimmala and Varshika in the lead roles and is directed by Lara, while Tummala Praful Ram Reddy is producing the project. The story is inspired by real-life incidents that took place in Telangana during the 1980s and aims to bring a forgotten chapter of social history to the silver screen.
Speaking on the occasion, Tammareddy Bharadwaja said, “The issue of water scarcity is not limited to a particular region. Even today, people in many places struggle to access drinking water. I am happy that the filmmakers have chosen such an important subject as the foundation of this film. Telugu girls are receiving good opportunities in the Telugu film industry today, and I strongly believe that the heroine of this film has a bright future ahead. I congratulate the entire team and wish them success.”
V.N. Aditya, President of the Telugu Directors’ Association, stated, “The subject of Sarkar Bai is extremely interesting and relevant. Audiences today are giving priority to content-driven cinema and are encouraging films with strong stories. It is encouraging to see producers coming forward to back such meaningful subjects. Just as my favorite cricketer Brian Lara achieved greatness, I hope director Lara also achieves remarkable success with this film.”
Lead actor Sriram Nimmala expressed his happiness, saying, “I have always been passionate about stories based on the Telangana Armed Struggle and social issues. Getting an opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project is a blessing. I am grateful to director Lara garu for believing in me and giving me this role. Producer Praful Ram Reddy garu has been like a family elder to all of us. I am proud to be associated with this film.”
A National Award-Worthy Film: Heroine Varshika
Heroine Varshika said, “I am a Telugu girl, and I thank the director and producer for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a powerful story. The moment I heard the script, I felt that this film had the potential to win a National Award. I request audiences to support this film and encourage meaningful cinema.”
Director Lara revealed the essence of the film, saying, “Through Sarkar Bai, we are bringing to light an emotional story that has remained hidden in history. The film is based on the injustices faced by marginalized communities who were denied access to water at a place known as ‘Sarkar Bai.’ Their struggles, suffering, and tears form the core of this narrative. The story is inspired by real incidents that took place in 1985 and explores caste discrimination and social inequality. We are presenting a heart-wrenching episode from Telangana’s history and hope audiences embrace it.”
Producer Tummala Praful Ram Reddy said, “This film is based on real-life incidents. We believe it carries a strong social message and will deeply touch the hearts of audiences. I am confident that Sarkar Bai will emerge as an award-winning film. We seek the blessings and support of movie lovers.”
Actor Chittibabu remarked, “I have been given a wonderful role in this film. Even the title Sarkar Bai itself is a major strength of the project. I wish the film tremendous success.”
Mohan Bairagi stated, “This film is being made with ideas rooted in people’s movements and social consciousness. It is a socially responsible project that will leave a lasting mark in history.”
Co-producer Janardhan Reddy said, “I am confident that audiences will connect with this film and appreciate its content. It has all the potential to become a major success.”
The film team expressed optimism that Sarkar Bai will receive a positive response across both Telugu-speaking states. With its focus on the right to water, social equality, and the fight against caste discrimination, the film is already generating considerable interest among audiences.
