Priyadarshi’s Film Idupu Kayitham Grandly Launched by Director Lokesh Kanagaraj
The film Idupu Kayitham, starring Priyadarshi and produced under the banners of Sukumar Writings and Bunny Vas Works, was launched grandly today with traditional pooja ceremonies. The film is being produced by Bunny Vas and acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar. Telangana folk singer and actress Nagadurga plays the female lead. Directed by young filmmaker Vamsi Reddy Dondapati, Idupu Kayitham is an entertaining family drama set against a Telangana backdrop.
Renowned Kollywood director Lokesh Kanagaraj attended the launch event as the chief guest and unveiled the film’s first-look poster. Prominent personalities including Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Naveen Yerneni, KL Damodar Prasad, SKN, Bapineedu, Dheeraj Mogilineni, directors Meher Ramesh, Chandoo Mondeti, Sai Rajesh, Venu Udugula, and Sai Marthand were also present. Allu Aravind gave the ceremonial clap for the muhurtham shot.
Speaking at the event, actor Bithiri Sathi said, “Watching the launch of Idupu Kayitham feels like being part of a festival. Director Vamsi Reddy has brought together talented artists like Savitri, Sujatha, Abhai Naveen, Mime Gopi, and many others for this film. The title itself suggests torn papers; I hope theatre tickets get torn due to overwhelming audience demand when the film releases.”
Actress Shivajyothi said, “This is my first film as an actress. I thank director Vamsi Anna for giving me this opportunity. Around 80 percent of the cast consists of women, and I am grateful to be part of such a meaningful story that provides opportunities to so many female artists.”
Actress Chandravva said, “This film comes with a beautiful story, and I have been given a wonderful role. Once audiences watch the film, they will look back at this poster with emotion. This character is very different from anything I have done before. We earned recognition on television, and I believe this film will establish us as actors on the big screen as well. Suresh Bobbili’s music will be another major highlight.”
Actress Jordar Sujatha said, “I cannot reveal details about my character right now, but it will serve as an inspiration to a section of society. There is a strong sense of confidence among all of us because we are working with people who understand us and our culture. This film will entertain audiences thoroughly.”
Actor Racha Ravi said, “This is not just Idupu Kayitham; it is a thread that brings people together. It is a story that connects families. This story belongs to every home, every heart, and every daughter. Director Vamsi Anna is the person who brought together Priyadarshi, Bunny Vas, and Sukumar for this project. It is a story that will adorn Telugu cinema like a garland of flowers. After working with Darshi on the National Award-winning Balagam, I believe this film too will earn great recognition.”
Actor Mime Madhu said, “When we heard the story, we were deeply moved. We felt that we would not need to act; the story itself would guide us. Director Vamsi is making a gem of a film. After Balagam, this could become another outstanding native-rooted story. We seek everyone’s support.”
Actor Abhai Bethiganti said, “I have worked with Darshi in memorable films before, and I consider myself fortunate to be part of good cinema. This is one such project. The film will speak for itself. I had been hearing about this project for nearly a year. When Vamsi Anna narrated the story, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. He gave me a wonderful role, and I hope to prove myself through it.”
Music director Suresh Bobbili said, “After hearing this story and seeing so many talented people join the project, I strongly believe that audiences across both Telugu states will flock to theatres from the very first day. This is a universal story that resonates with every household that has a daughter. It transcends regional boundaries. I am grateful to have been chosen as the music director for such a meaningful film.”
Director Vamsi Krishna Dondapati said, “I thank everyone who attended the launch of Idupu Kayitham. I am especially grateful to Tabitha Garu for believing in this story from the moment I narrated it. Without trust, no one can grow. I also thank Sukumar Garu, Bunny Vas, Priyadarshi, Venu Udugula, Poojari Nageswara Rao, and Boosam Jaganmohan Reddy for their support. I hope audiences will stand by our film.”
Producer Thabitha Sukumar said, “I was born and raised in Hyderabad and am a proud Telangana woman. While listening to Vamsi narrate the story, I was reminded of incidents from my childhood and how elders used to handle family situations. I instantly connected with the story and told Sukumar that we must make this film under Sukumar Writings. Vamsi has written the characters and emotions exceptionally well. I could visualize the entire film while listening to the narration. Even after seeing the poster today, I felt confident that audiences would connect deeply with the film. I believe this will become a milestone project for Sukumar Writings.”
Producer Bunny Vas said, “We are making this film with a truly remarkable story. Even if it were screened in Bihar with subtitles, audiences there would connect with it. Every family has a common issue, and this film revolves around that. Once the film releases, daughters should take their in-laws to watch it, and sons should take theirs separately. By the time they come out of the theatre, relationships will be stronger. That is all I can reveal for now. The strength of this story attracted every artist involved. Vamsi comes from Jammikunta, and although I have never visited the place, his narration made me feel as though I was there. We are about to present a wonderful Telugu film through Idupu Kayitham. Nagadurga impressed us with her clarity and professionalism. She has already earned popularity through YouTube, and we are preparing a special song for her that will be a major attraction. Priyadarshi was instrumental in bringing this story to us. Had I not done this film, I would have missed an extraordinary story.”
Heroine Nagadurga said, “Many of you may know me through my folk songs on YouTube. Now, I am making my debut as a heroine with the wonderful film Idupu Kayitham. Countless girls dream of becoming heroines, and thanks to everyone’s support, I have received this opportunity. I believed in this story, and the story believed in me. When Vamsi Garu narrated it, I felt extremely happy. I thank Bunny Vas Garu and Sukumar Garu for giving me this opportunity. They told me that talent will always reach the place where it belongs and receive the recognition it deserves. Those words gave me confidence. The role of Srilatha that I play carries immense emotional weight. Initially, I was unsure if I could do justice to it, but Vamsi Garu gave me the confidence to perform it. Celebrating my 25th birthday in Sukumar Garu’s presence is something I will never forget. I cannot imagine a better debut. Once I learned about the cast involved, I felt reassured that I was among my own people. Audiences are going to celebrate this film in theatres.”
Hero Priyadarshi said, “Watching the launch event of Idupu Kayitham today fills me with happiness and pride. Through this film, I hope to return the love that audiences have shown me over the years. I thank Sukumar Garu, Bunny Vas Garu, and Tabitha Garu for believing in us wholeheartedly. I will be playing a character named Srinivas, and I am ready to do everything required to bring him to life. While the film is rooted in Telangana, with its language, dialect, food, and culture, it is ultimately a global story. Whether we shoot in Jammikunta, Illanthakunta, Hyderabad, or Sanath Nagar, the roots of this story exist in every household. It is a story that belongs to my own home as well. When Vamsi narrated it, I immediately felt it was my story, and the entire team felt the same. From now on, we will let our work speak. I will talk more about our team during the trailer launch and pre-release events.”
