Keeravani Shares Major Music Update on Varanasi

SS Rajamouli’s ambitious magnum opus Varanasi is progressing as planned for its worldwide release on April 7, 2027. Adding to the excitement, Oscar winning composer M.M. Keeravani has revealed that he will begin working on the film’s background score in September, with the goal of completing it by January.

The update indicates that the makers are staying firmly on schedule, strengthening confidence that the announced release date will remain unchanged. Starring Mahesh Babu in a reported dual role and Priyanka Chopra as Mandakini, Varanasi is being mounted on a massive scale with an estimated budget of over ₹1,300 crore.

Backed by K.L. Narayana and S.S. Karthikeya, the film features a story by Vijayendra Prasad, dialogues by Deva Katta, and music by M.M. Keeravani. With meticulous planning from production to post production, Varanasi is shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian cinematic spectacles ever made.
