Kamal Haasan Thug Life release date announced with a Visual Feast teaser

Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan is a living legend of Indian Cinema. The multi-faceted actor has a crazy list of cult films over his 6 decades of film career and he is still hungry to deliver something unique, creative and absolutely fresh to audiences. Many directors wish to work with him at least once in their lifetime as the actor is himself an university in understanding and executing films.

Equally popular and highly respected legendary director Mani Ratnam has shot to universal acclaim and tremendous craze with his unparalleled vision and sharp writing. The director and actor have delivered an all-time classic like Nayakan/ Nayakudu 37 years ago. The all-time classic Indian film has cult following among audiences over generations and it has been only Indian film to be listed among Time Magazine's 100 All-time classics in World Cinema.

So, the expectations are huge from the prominent combination when they have announced their next film, Thug Life. Many fans and movie-lovers have been waiting for this combination to materialise and they finally decided it is time after 37 years to unite and deliver an epic action drama. The expectations from this combination have grown even high after Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan movies.

Adding to the excitement, Silambarasan TR aka Simbu has joined the cast for a prominent lead role. STR has earned the name as a great performer and many wished to see him share screen with the great Kamal Haasan. After an exciting gangster drama film like Chekka Chivantha Vaanam/ Nawab, Simbu is acting in a Mani Ratnam film as well.

On the occasion of Kamal Haasan's birthday, the makers have released a scintillating teaser that grows our intrigue towards the film and showcases the visual feast that is on offer for us from the mastercraftsmen. The breathtaking visuals and action shots promise a grand epic action adventure.

Also, Kamal Haasan in different looks adds to the intrigue with some call backs to Nayakan film. The makers have announced the movie release date along with the teaser and it is releasing grandly on 5th June, 2025.

The exciting ensemble cast of the film includes Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekhsmi, Abhirami, Nasser and Joju George. Prominent cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran is handling cinematography for this visual extravaganza and National Award winning editor Sreekar Prasad is editing it.

Musical legend AR Rahman is composing music for the film while famous stunt choreographers Anbariv are composing action. Sharmishta Roy is handling production design and Eka Lakhani is the costume designer.
