‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’ is an upcoming unique crime thriller produced by Nani Movie Works and Raamaa Creations with Vishva Karthikeya and Aayushi Patel playing the lead roles. Ramakhanth Reddy is the director and also story, screenplay, and dialogue writer for the movie. Produced by Dr. Kandula Chandra Obul Reddy, G. What’s the story behind the title ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’?

Every human has different shades. This movie will convincingly show them. The story of this movie takes place in Nandyala. That’s why we named it ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’.

What are the reasons for accepting to do ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’?

I try hard to earn the name that I can do any given role. Every character in this movie is significant. All characters indeed have two shades. Will there be two shades? Or Double roles? We can’t say that for now. I liked this story very much. That’s why I did this film with great love.

What kind of rehearsals have been done for ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’?

My character will be very new in the movie ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’. We did many workshops for this character. We have done workshops for each emotion such as, how to behave when one is angry, and how to react when one is anxious.

What is the difference between this movie compared to your previous ones? 

‘Kalaposhakulu’ which I have done earlier was purely an entertaining movie. ‘Allantha Doorana’ is a melodrama. ‘Jai Sena’ was purely a commercial film. But this film deals with a very new point. Besides thrilling and suspenseful elements, this movie also has a mother sentiment. There seems to be a new genre for every two to three scenes. It will appeal to all sections of the audience. It stands out in my career.

What is the concept of the movie ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’?

We will show the current circumstances in the society. We will show what happens if parents do not raise children properly. The crime scenes will also look very fresh.

What was your experience of shooting the movie in Kadapa?

There are many good locations in Kadapa. Everything was shot in live locations. We didn’t erect any sets. We are very happy that Annapurna banner is releasing our film. Our movie has got a very good output. Our film is getting good support from the media as well.

What kind of message does Kaliyugam Pattanamlo give? 

We have shown how parents should not raise their children. We have shown how children should be raised. Children grow up the way their parents raise them. Nurturing makes children good and bad. Every human being has a psychic feeling. But parenting can reduce it.

Tell us about the heroine Ayushi. And Chitra Shukla who played a pivotal role?

Ayushi being a Telugu girl is a fortunate thing for the film. Each character has different shades. Her characterization also has multiple shades. We took her, as being a Telugu girl she can easily understand the feelings of the character. Ayushi’s role has as much importance as my role. Chitra Shukla will be seen in an important role.

How was it working with director Ramakhanth Reddy? 

I was initially not interested in listening to the story. But I was surprised by the story told by our director Ramakhanth Reddy, the way it was narrated with the tight screenplay. I couldn’t figure out what was going on until the climax. A storyboard has also been prepared beforehand. Our director has a very clear vision. I simply did what he told me to.

How is ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’ going to be technically?

‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’ is technically very solid. Everyone is amazed by the camera work. The songs and RR are amazing. Ajay gave us good music.

Are you getting support from the industry?

I am getting good support from the industry. Heroes and directors are giving good support. But it would be better if they supported us by attending any event.

Do you like people who give you positive feedback or those who give negative feedback?

I like people who give negative feedback more than people who give positive feedback. We can learn from negative feedback.

What is the budget for the movie ‘Kaliyugam Pattanamlo’?

When we heard the story, we thought it would be made with a small budget. But it is a very big-budget movie. A lot was invested than the market value. Our producers were very supportive. The shooting went smoothly without any trouble for us.

Did you get any objections from the censor for the movie?

Aa Naluguru is a very good movie. If the movie was made now, it would have faced criticism. That’s why we wanted to talk about evil as evil. It got good appreciation from the censor sleuths.

What is your next project?

People need to conclude that whatever Vishva does will have a good message. I hope that my film should not be misguided. I am doing an Indonesian project. Ayushi is acting as the heroine in that movie as well. The movie will be released worldwide. That movie has the backdrop of mantra, tantras, and black magic.
