Goa: The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa received a significant boost of international star power as Indian-American actress and American Delegate, Jo Sharma, graced the prestigious film event. Sharma, the heroine of the highly anticipated film M4M – Motive for Murder, marked a distinguished presence at the festival, participating in key events alongside some of Indian cinema’s biggest icons and high-ranking government officials.
Spotlight on the Waves Inauguration
Jo Sharma made a notable entry at the Waves inauguration event, arriving alongside Tollywood superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna garu. Her presence added an international dimension to the platform, which saw attendance from Union Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Bollywood Director Shekhar Kapur, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, cinema legend Super Star Rajinikanth, and veteran actor Anupam Kher.
The inauguration and subsequent events were hosted by eminent personalities, including Secretary Jaju, Murugan, Anupam Kher, and Shekhar Kapur, who extended a warm welcome to the global delegates and film professionals.
Cinematic Collaborations and High-Profile Screenings
The American actress was also seen at a special screening of the film Laal Salaam. She watched the movie seated next to Super Star Rajinikanth and Bollywood Director Shekhar Kapur, interacting closely with the movie’s team.
Further strengthening cultural and cinematic ties between India and the USA, Sharma actively participated in the IFFI parade. During the parade, she was pictured engaging with Goa Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant ji and Goa Tourism Minister Shri Rohan Khaunte ji, as well as members of the Tollywood Film Fraternity.
A Global Buzz for M4M
Jo Sharma’s visit comes as her upcoming film, M4M – Motive for Murder, directed by Mohan Vadlapatla, continues to create a global buzz. The film has garnered significant acclaim, securing an impressive 28 international film festival awards. Jo Sharma’s powerful performance in the lead role has also earned her 6 Best Actress Awards. The much-awaited crime thriller is set for a theatrical release soon.

Demonstrating her commitment to cinematic dialogue, Sharma also contributed to meaningful industry conversations by taking part in an insightful FICCI session hosted by Ashish ji at the Waves Film Bazaar. The session focused on global cinema, production trends, and creative exchange.
