I’m Happy and satisfied with the success of ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’ – Naveen Polishetty

After the back to back blockbusters like Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya and Jathi Ratnalu, young hero Naveen Polishetty ot a hat-trick of super hit with ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’. His clean family entertainer ‘Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty’ starring Anushka Shetty was a hit in the Telugu states as well as in the US. It is being exhibited globally with steady collections in the third week as well.

Apart from the love of the audience, the movie also got appreciations from the industry bigwigs. In this background, hero Naveen Polishetty spoke to the media about the happiness that Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty success gave him.

– As soon as we announced the date of September 7, I was in tension as Shah Rukh’s Jawan was coming on the same date. We know we made a good movie. I know the audience will like it. But I thought it would have been better if we got a solo release. But the audience made our movie a super hit. They made it reach everyone with the word of mouth of a good movie. Collections started slowly in Telugu but it got superhit collection from the premieres itself in US.

He added, “The film crossed one million dollars in three days. Now it is running in the third week in the US as well. Screens are increasing. In fact, there will be no film in the US in the third week. Shows are being increased in UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand as per the demand of the audience. Hats off to the audience for supporting our good effort.

– Many star heroes and technicians from our film industry have appreciated our film. Megastar Chiranjeevi watched the movie and gave a review. Talked to us for two hours. I felt very happy when he was talking about my performance. After that, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Rajamouli, Charan Garu, Samantha and many others saw and reviewed voluntarily. The audience also came forward and promote our film. I went to 75 cities in last 25 days for promotion tour. I used to sleep on the flight traveling from East to West in America. There was no time to sleep in the hotel. We promoted the movie even after its release. It was going to say my thanks so it didn’t seem difficult.

– The three successful movies that I got so far have helped my career in different ways. I made YouTube videos before my first movie. They were good and no one came forward to invest on me. So first came our agent Sai Srinivasa the producer. That movie proved that I can perform well. A pandemic has come in time for Jatji Ratnalu. He said that they don’t watch movies in theaters then. But after seeing the collections of that movie, producers and buyers got the belief that Naveen’s movie will get good collections in theaters. Now with Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty I have proved that I can do not only comedy but also emotion.

– I I have prepared well for my character in this film,” he shared his preparation for the role. Along with Hyderabad, I saw a few stand-up comedy gigs in Mumbai and the United States. I’ve seen how they generate comedy by picking a theme. After seeing it, I knew I can portray this character. But I took it as a challenge that if we try perfectly, we will surely succeed. Happy if the popularity of standup comedians increases here too. Many people give their opinions before watching movies. But I believe that a proper review will come only after watching. That’s how this movie got the name of Best Romantic Entertainer. Even then, my first film agent said that detective films will not workout. If something is not successful I wonder why not.

– This subject is known to have slow openings. If it is a mass commercial movie then the audience will go. We were bringing a new sensitive point. With that, our movie journey started slowly at box office. The performance in the last 30 minutes of the movie is something I have never done before. The audience loved the emotion and drama.

– Do you improvise every scene on set as an actor? If there are four jokes in a scene, I want the audience to laugh seven times when I do it. You need such freedom to improvise. Luckily all my directors gave me such freedom. I don’t like doing what is on the scene paper. I will talk to the director at night about the scene to be done tomorrow and get complete clarity.

– I have favorite actors in every language. Like Aamir Khan in Hindi. Also Chiranjeevi and Prabhas in Telugu. I love all genres of films. I like Rajkumar Hirani movies in Hindi. Bhairava Kona, Aditya 369 are my favorite movies in Telugu. The success of every movie gives me more responsibility as a hero. Currently I’m acting in three films. The scripts are locked. Next year three movies will go on the sets one by one. I will update you about these projects very soon. I have heard two or three stories in Hindi but my priority right now is acting in Telugu. If I get time, I am ready to do a good humorous TV program like Kapil Show.
