Feb 6 will mark a special moment with the release of Euphoria: Gunasekhar

The latest film by blockbuster director Gunasekhar is titled Euphoria. Presented by Smt. Ragini Guna, the film is being produced under the Guna Handmade Films banner by Neelima Guna and Yuktha Guna. With a fresh and unconventional concept, Gunasekhar has made this film using new actors, aiming to connect with today’s youth as well as family audiences.

The film features Bhumika Chawla, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sara Arjun, Nasser, Rohith, Vignesh Gavireddy, Likhitha Yalamanchali, Addala Prudhviraj, Kalpalatha, Sai Sreenika Reddy, Ashrita Vemuganti, Matthew Varghese, Adarsh Balakrishna, Ravi Prakash, Naveena Reddy, and Likith Naidu in important roles. The teaser, glimpses, and the song “Fly High” released earlier have received a superb response. The trailer of the film, which is set for a worldwide release on February 6, has now been launched.

It is noteworthy that Sara Arjun, who recently impressed audiences as a heroine in Dhurandhar, is playing the lead role in this film. From the trailer, it is evident that Gunasekhar has presented the film in a very raw and intense manner, set against the backdrop of drug abuse and crime that plague today’s youth. The movie reflects the harsh realities of contemporary society, showing how young people destroy their lives under the influence of drugs.

The story revolves around an ordinary young woman (Sara Arjun) who dreams of becoming a civil servant. Her life, which should have reached great heights, turns upside down in a single night. The director vividly portrays how today’s youth, trapped in the grip of narcotics, lose their sense of judgment and get involved in crimes.

Senior actress Bhumika Chawla plays a highly significant role in the film as the mother of an accused youth. Typically, we see mothers trying to protect their sons even when they commit crimes. However, in this story, Bhumika’s character is unable to accept her son’s wrongdoing and approaches the High Court herself to seek justice for the victim. The question, “What was her crime?” creates strong curiosity among audiences. This conflict between motherhood and morality is expected to be one of the major highlights of the film.

Renowned filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon appears in a powerful role as Police Commissioner Jayadev Nair. The trailer indicates that Gunasekhar has realistically portrayed how Menon’s character applies the POCSO Act and gathers evidence while investigating the case. Produced by Neelima Gunasekhar with music composed by Kaala Bhairava, the film stands out technically as well. Beyond highlighting the harmful consequences of drug abuse, the movie also emphasizes the importance of responsible parenting. At the trailer launch event held in Hyderabad, Addala Prudhviraj said,

Director Gunasekhar said, “My daughter Neelima never gets this emotional. But if she became emotional after watching the trailer, it means the story has that much impact. Our entire family is connected to this story, and in the same way, all of you will emotionally connect with this film. We conducted auditions for six months to make this film entirely with new people. We selected everyone purely based on talent. The audience will easily connect with these characters. Adolescence is very crucial in the story, which is why we chose teenagers. That is the reason we selected Sara Arjun, who acted in Ponniyin Selvan. Neelima said we should do this film only if Sara is part of it. When I narrated the story, Sara’s father Raj Arjun was shocked and said such a good story must definitely be told to the people.

When I thought of Bhumika for the mother’s role, I initially said no, because I don’t like seeing her as a mother. But Neelima said we need a young mother, so we narrated the story to her. I told her that the recognition she received with Okkadu would be doubled with this film. She read the complete script and immediately said yes. Bhumika has opened the eyes of heroines who say they will only do glamorous roles.

Gautham Vasudev Menon already has a great reputation as a director. His role in this film is very natural. He agreed as soon as he heard the story. When we thought of Kaala Bhairava as the music director and sent him the script, I received a call from Keeravani garu. He asked me to meet him immediately and said this is a film that needs to be made urgently. He advised Kaala Bhairava to be very careful and do this film, which is why the music has come out so well. The son has truly lived up to the father.
