Can Akhil’s Lenin Outshine Jaya Krishna’s Debut?
The second weekend of July is set to witness an exciting box office battle in Tollywood as two highly anticipated films arrive on consecutive days. Ghattamaneni youngster Jaya Krishna is making his acting debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 9. A day later, Akhil Akkineni will return to the big screen with Lenin, a film widely regarded as a crucial comeback in his career. With both films backed by prestigious production houses and carrying strong pre-release buzz, the clash has generated significant interest across the industry.
Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, Srinivasa Mangapuram is billed as a rustic romantic entertainer. Rasha Thadani plays the female lead, while veteran actor Mohan Babu appears in a powerful role. The film is jointly produced by C. Ashwini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies and Gemini Kiran. Adding further momentum to the promotions, Superstar Mahesh Babu is expected to attend the pre-release event in support of his nephew Jaya Krishna. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the film’s music, and expectations are high among Ghattamaneni fans.
On the other hand, Lenin, directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, is a Rayalaseema-based action love story starring Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse. Produced by Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments, the film has impressed audiences with its promotional content so far. Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya are expected to actively promote the film ahead of its release, while Thaman has composed the soundtrack. With both films carrying solid expectations and targeting the same weekend audience, all eyes are now on the July second weekend to see which movie emerges as the winner at the Tollywood box office.
