WRO India National Championship 2026 Concludes in Hyderabad as Winners Qualify for Global Finals in Puerto Rico
The three-day WRO India National Championship 2026 concluded at the GMR Arena in GMR Aerocity, Hyderabad. Bringing together over 300 youth teams from across the nation, the competition highlighted how hands-on robotics and coding prepare students for an increasingly AI-driven landscape by fostering computational thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving. Organised jointly by the India STEM Foundation (ISF) and the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the event served as the national final following a series of regional qualification rounds.

Future Innovators:
The national finals concluded with standout performances across all four main competition categories, qualifying the winning student teams to represent India on the international stage in Puerto Rico. In the Future Innovators category, Team Punaruttham (Delhi-NCR) took first place in the Elementary division, Team SkyWalkers (Bengaluru) won the Junior division, and Team UWR CNRGY (Kochi) claimed the Senior title. The RoboMission category saw Team Curiosity (Bengaluru) secure the Elementary division win, Team Command Z (Ahmedabad) take the Junior division title, and Team Robotitans (Bengaluru) capture the Senior victory. Rounding out the national champions, Team 2EZ (Mumbai) emerged victorious in the RoboSports category, while Team Glitch (Mumbai) earned top honors in the Future Engineers category.
Leadership Perspectives on Experiential Learning:
Key stakeholders emphasized the role of practical STEM initiatives in shaping future talent beyond classroom instruction. Sudhanshu Sharma, Founder of the India STEM Foundation, noted that developing future-ready skills requires giving young learners the room to experiment, fail, and iterate. Shri K. S. Murali, Director General of NCSM, highlighted the high level of curiosity and persistence shown by the students, affirming NCSM’s commitment to expanding access to science and technology learning through its nationwide network of science centres and Innovation Hubs.

To date, ISF has reached over 530,000 students and teachers across 2,000+ schools, while NCSM continues to promote scientific engagement and innovation across India.
