Star Health Expands Healthcare Partnerships in Rajahmundry to Improve Cashless Access
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited recently hosted a major healthcare partner engagement event in Rajahmundry, bringing together over 100 hospital leaders representing approximately 75 healthcare providers from the region. The gathering featured key executives including owners, managing directors, CEOs, and CFOs from Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Tanuku, Amalapuram, Anaparthy, Kothapeta, Mandapeta, Tadepalligudem, and Ravulapalem.
The sessions were addressed by Dr. Kurukuri Vijay Kumar, President of the Andhra Pradesh Specialty Hospitals Association (ASHA), alongside senior regional leadership from Star Health. Discussions centered on bridging gaps between insurers and healthcare providers, streamlining operations, and resolving friction points during hospitalizations and claims processing.
Expanding Regional Footprint and Cashless Network:
Star Health currently features a vast network of over 110 hospitals across Rajahmundry and its surrounding markets, facilitating streamlined access to cashless treatment. During the fiscal year, the insurer settled 2,822 claims amounting to over ₹21.01 crore across these local markets, with 75% of those claims successfully managed through its cashless network. Overall, Star Health provides coverage to 48,921 customers in the region.
Mr. Srinivas KBB, Business Head for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh at Star Health Insurance, emphasized the importance of these initiatives:
“As health insurance adoption grows beyond the large metros, building a strong and responsive healthcare ecosystem becomes increasingly important. Hospitals are central to how customers experience health insurance at the time they need it most.”
Focus on Simplifying the Customer Experience:
The partner interaction focused heavily on elements that directly dictate a patient’s hospitalization journey by addressing key operational priorities. Discussions centered on improving cashless claims efficiency through faster pre-authorization and approval procedures, enhancing inter-team coordination to strengthen communication channels between hospital admin desks and insurance claims teams, and streamlining information exchange to minimize delays and ensure hassle-free discharges for policyholders. Through these continuous engagements, Star Health aims to reinforce its on-ground servicing infrastructure, broaden cashless healthcare accessibility, and deliver a seamless experience for customers across Rajahmundry and neighboring districts.
