Fireback & Barback Arrive in Hyderabad
Fireback: Hyderabad’s culinary landscape has officially leveled up. Marking its highly anticipated debut in South India, EHV International—the visionary hospitality group behind iconic establishments like Indian Accent and Comorin has brought the vibrant energy of Thailand to the heart of HITEC City. Fireback, a sophisticated Thai restaurant, and its nocturnal counterpart, Barback, have officially opened their doors at The Loft, promising an immersive journey into the flavors and spirit of Bangkok.
A Masterclass in Thai Authenticity:
At the helm of Fireback is the legendary Chef David Thompson, a global authority on Thai cuisine. Working alongside Brand Chef Kaustubh Haldipur, the team aims to deliver an experience that mirrors the finest tables in Bangkok. The menu celebrates the “delicate interplay of flavors, textures, and aromas,” moving far beyond simple spice to highlight the depth of Thailand’s culinary heritage.
Signature dishes include:
- Miang Kham: A delicate betel leaf bundle with pomelo, toasted coconut, and peanuts.
- Pumpkin and Sweet Potato: A standout plant-forward dish glazed in a rich, fire-grilled gorlae sauce.
- Jungle Curry: A bold, uncompromising dish of grilled pork featuring house-made chili paste and fragrant turmeric.
- Red Curry with Soft-Shell Crab: A rich, indulgent preparation finished with aromatic lime leaves and ginger.
Barback: The After-Dark Escape:
Entry to Fireback is through Barback, a moody, atmospheric cocktail bar inspired by the late-night culture of Bangkok’s Chinatown. Designed to be a fluid extension of the restaurant, Barback shifts the energy from dinner service to an intimate, music-filled lounge experience.
The beverage program, curated by Head of Bars Varun Sharma, is a masterclass in mixology. Using Southeast Asian ingredients like yuzu, pandan, lemongrass, and tamarind, the menu features innovative serves such as the Tom Yum Gimlet and the Pandan Negroni. These are complemented by a thoughtful wine list curated by Kevin Rodrigues, specifically chosen to balance the complexities of Thai spice.
A Vision of Design and Hospitality:
The architectural vision, led by EHV’s Director of Design Rashmi Khattar in collaboration with London’s Russell Sage Studio, masterfully bridges tradition and modernity. The space utilizes a grounded material palette with warm burgundy tones and gold accents, designed to evolve as the night progresses.
Reflecting on the milestone, Rohit Khattar, Founder Chairman of EHV International, noted: “Hyderabad has emerged as one of India’s most exciting culinary destinations… With Fireback, we are bringing approachable, authentic Thai cuisine to the city, while Barback introduces a completely new cocktail-led experience.”
Whether you are looking for a refined Thai dinner or a sophisticated late-night cocktail spot, the dual destination of Fireback and Barback at The Loft is set to become a defining landmark in Hyderabad’s vibrant dining scene.
