DBS Bank India Enables Customs Duty, Central Excise, and Service Tax Payments via ICEGATE 2.0
DBS Bank India has officially introduced payment capabilities for Customs Duty, Central Excise, and Service Tax through the ICEGATE 2.0 (Indian Customs Electronic Gateway) platform. With this strategic inclusion, the bank now supports a comprehensive suite of central tax categories comprising GST, Direct Taxes, and Customs-related payments making it the only wholly owned subsidiary bank in India to offer all three major central tax payment verticals through official government channels.
Platform Functionality and Corporate Banking Synergy:
Through integration with the Indian Customs National Trade Portal (ICEGATE 2.0), corporate clients can initiate payments for customs and related duties, designate DBS Bank as their preferred partner, and complete transactions seamlessly via DBS IDEAL.
Unified Management: Businesses can handle crucial trade-related statutory obligations directly through the same portal they use for day-to-day banking and treasury workflows.
Operational Controls: Eligible IDEAL customers can leverage existing authorization workflows, transaction monitoring tools, and downloadable payment logs daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends.
Leadership Perspectives on Trade and Efficiency:
Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head of Global Transaction Services for Corporate Banking at DBS Bank India, highlighted that as trade interconnectivity expands, corporates require streamlined mechanisms to manage statutory outflows. Pointing to government data showing merchandise imports reaching USD 363 billion and exports rising to USD 215.9 billion during April-August FY2026-27, Dalal emphasized that unifying statutory obligations under a single platform provides heightened visibility, operational control, and frictionless growth enablement for expanding enterprises.
