Cognizant Introduces Talent Accelerator Program for 489 New B-School Graduates in India
Global technology services provider and AI builder Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) has officially launched its Talent Accelerator program in Bengaluru, welcoming 489 newly hired business school graduates. Drawn from 58 B-schools across 37 cities in India including premier institutions like IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, ISB Hyderabad, SPJIMR Mumbai, FMS Delhi, and XLRI Jamshedpur the cohort marks a significant step in the company’s recruitment and professional development strategy.
Program Structure and Immersive Onboarding:
The initiative is structured as a two-week immersive onboarding program conducted simultaneously across Cognizant’s major Indian facilities in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. Designed to integrate new associates into the corporate culture, the curriculum combines functional, sales, and marketing training with direct mentorship and interaction alongside Cognizant’s senior business leaders and management teams.
Focus on Cognitive Diversity and Non-STEM Inclusion:
Emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary perspectives in the artificial intelligence era, Rajesh Varrier, President of Global Operations and Chairman & Managing Director of Cognizant India, noted that cognitive diversity remains essential for delivering client value. Reflecting this philosophy, the recruitment drive heavily prioritized diverse academic backgrounds:
Non-STEM Representation: Over 37% of the newly hired cohort hail from non-science and engineering disciplines, including liberal arts fields like sociology and psychology, vocational courses, and design-focused areas such as industrial design.
Gender Diversity: More than 42% of the incoming cohort comprise women, underscoring Cognizant’s ongoing commitment to workplace inclusion and gender balance.
Aligning Workforce Skills with AI Enterprise Demands:
This onboarding milestone complements Cognizant’s broader strategic initiatives, including its recent commitment to scaling its specialized workforce to include 5,000 Frontier-Certified Engineers and 10,000 Frontier Business Operators. By uniting interdisciplinary talent from day one, the Talent Accelerator program aims to bridge the critical gap between advanced AI capabilities and tangible, real-world business outcomes.
