Bridging Horizons New Zealand’s ‘Kia Ora India’ Ignites Educational Aspirations Across India
NEW DELHI : In a significant move to bolster bilateral educational ties, Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ) has successfully wrapped up the first phase of its flagship ‘Kia Ora India’ series. Spanning across New Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Pune, the initiative reached over 500 students, parents, and academic counselors, positioning New Zealand as a premier destination for future-focused global learning.
Empowering the Next Generation of Global Citizens:
The ‘Kia Ora India’ series serves as a strategic bridge, connecting Indian learners with New Zealand’s unique pedagogical landscape. This year’s events emphasized a student-centric approach, focusing on real-world applications and the development of skills tailored for the modern workforce.
The series was characterized by high-impact interactions, featuring:
NZ EdTalks: Expert-led sessions providing insights into emerging global industries.
Holistic Wellness: Discussions centered on student wellbeing and the cultural integration of international learners.
Future-Ready Skills: A focus on practical, industry-aligned curricula that transcend traditional rote learning.
A Convergence of Academic Excellence:
For the first time in the series, all eight of New Zealand’s universities—each ranked within the top 2% globally according to the QS World University Rankings were present under one roof. Joining them were government-funded Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs) and specialized private training establishments.
Representatives from prestigious institutions, including the University of Auckland, University of Otago, and Victoria University of Wellington, engaged directly with aspirants to discuss scholarship opportunities, research facilities, and post-study work pathways.
“Kia Ora India is about creating meaningful connections and helping students make informed choices,” said Jugnu Roy, Director of Engagement (East Asia and India) at ENZ. “We saw strong interest from families seeking an education that is both academically rigorous and relevant to a rapidly evolving global landscape.”
Why New Zealand?
As India remains a pivotal growth market for international education, New Zealand’s value proposition extends beyond the classroom. The country’s reputation for safety, political stability, and a welcoming environment continues to be a primary draw for Indian families.
By aligning its educational offerings with the practical demands of the global economy, New Zealand is successfully carving out a niche as a sanctuary for innovation and high-quality, sustainable learning.
