Bank of Baroda Launches ‘bob Cyber Veeru’ Campaign to Strengthen Customer Awareness on Digital Safety
Aligning with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October 2026, Bank of Baroda has introduced ‘bob Cyber Veeru’, its dedicated cybersecurity mascot designed to promote safe banking practices. Acting as a friendly and trusted guide, the mascot helps customers recognize cyber risks, prevent digital frauds, and adopt secure banking habits through relatable, actionable content. The pan-India awareness initiative is deployed across digital touchpoints, ATMs, branches, and media channels to educate users on identifying warning signs and responding correctly to fraudulent prompts.
Targeted Fraud Prevention and Key Scams Addressed:
The campaign covers a comprehensive spectrum of prevalent and emerging cyber scams, providing practical guidance against threats such as:
Phishing attempts and malicious fake links
Fraudulent KYC verification requests and fake customer care calls
QR code and UPI-related money transfer scams
Dangerous screen-sharing app frauds and unauthorized remote access attempts
Leadership Insights and Nationwide Outreach:
Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, stated: “As digital banking becomes an integral part of everyday life, awareness and vigilance are important safeguards against cyber fraud. Through bob Cyber Veeru, our aim is to simplify digital safety and equip customers with practical and simple advice to recognise common risks and protect themselves from frauds.”
As part of the month-long outreach, the bank is amplifying the campaign across print, radio, outdoor, email, SMS, and social media, alongside conducting specialized educational programs, staff training sessions, and recognizing employees who successfully thwart cyber fraud attempts.
