Amazon Now Crosses $1 Billion in Annualized Gross Sales in India
Amazon India has announced in Bengaluru that its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, has achieved $1 billion in annualized gross sales over the past three months. Propelled by order volumes doubling every single quarter since its launch, the platform has officially secured its place as the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India’s history.
Rapid Expansion Into Tier II and III Towns:
Demonstrating aggressive market penetration, Amazon Now scaled its footprint to four times as many cities in under 10 weeks, extending its delivery-in-minutes service to over 60 Indian cities and towns ahead of the festive season.Beyond major metropolitan areas, the service has rapidly penetrated numerous tier II and III markets, bringing ultra-fast deliveries to cities and towns such as Padubidri, Tirupati, Guntur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Vellore, Dharwad, Warangal, and Berhampur.
The company remains firmly on track to hit its goal of reaching 100 cities by Diwali, stretching its network from northern hubs like Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur to southern locations such as Vembayam and Alamcode.
Infrastructure and Nationwide Fulfillment:
To maintain its rapid delivery timelines, Amazon Now relies on a specialized delivery network comprising over 750 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centers.
Reflecting on this milestone, Samir Kumar, Country Manager, Amazon India, stated:
