The 14th Norwegian Tamil Film Festival - Tamil Awards 2023 has concluded!

The 14th Norwegian Tamil Film Festival - Tamilar Awards 2023 held on April 27th 2023 to April 30th 2023, was a huge success, with a bigger programme than ever before says Festival Director Vaseeharan Sivalingam. With the support of Tamil relatives living in Norway, four days of short screenings, full-length film screenings, documentary screenings, international films screenings, video screenings, dances and songs were all held in a grand celebration.

Director Thiru Vetimaaran was the special guest of this year's Norwegian Tamil Film Festival. He was awarded the Tamil Awards for Best Director this year for the films Asuran (2017) and Asuran (2020). Lillestrøm Kommune (Municipality) Chief Jørgen Vik praised Lørenskog Kommune (Municipality) Chief Ragnhild Bergheim with the Tamil Award and Certificate for Asuran.

"Shadow of the Night" directed by director, actor R. Parthiban, two short films produced by Eelam director Vimal - Suganthi, Ilul Athiyayam produced by Joshua Varad and "Palai Nilam" directed by Juttu Sukanthan and Malaysian film Sentozhan Sengathiravan 27.04 .screened on 2023.

Director Seenu Ramaswamy's film "Mamanithan", produced by Mala Manian, poet Kutty Revathi's film "Chiragu" was screened for the first time in Norway. This was followed by the short film "Lock Up Death" and films like A home away from Home, Christmas Snow, etc. were screened on the second day.

For the third day in a row, the "Tamil Awards" event and the Innisai evening program received great response and immense applause from the people for the songs presented by young artistes living in Norway, Ajay Elango, Risena Dharmasekhar and Aisa Gunapalan who visited from Denmark.

The students of four art galleries entertained the crowd by performing all kinds of dances. On the closing day, Muthunagar Massacre - Documentary, DO OVER Best Full Length Awareness Film was screened and received great response from people. The Best Social Awareness Film Award has been given to Do Over. Director Sharvi Produced by S Saravanan. The highlight of the 14th year was director Vetimaaran who answered the questions of the people and had many conversations with the people.
