Candorians Make History at NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge

In a historic moment for Candor International School's Team S.P.E.C.T.R.A., comprising of Grade 9, 10, and AS level students, left an indelible mark at the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) held in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.

The journey began with a call to action in November 2023 when NASA selected Candor International School among thousands of global entries to participate in the prestigious challenge. Since then, the students, under the guidance of their mentors and teachers, embarked on an intensive engineering endeavor to craft Human-Powered Rovers for the ultimate showdown at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

A significant highlight in their journey was the industrial visit to Avasarala Technologies in January 2024. Here, they gathered insights from the industry stalwarts, enriching their understanding across diverse engineering domains, from Aerospace to Defense, and beyond.

In March, we witnessed a pivotal moment as the students delved deeper into the rover’s creation, applying their newfound knowledge and expertise. With each passing milestone, their dedication to innovation and engineering excellence shone through.

Out of 7000 applicants, Team S.P.E.C.T.R.A. proudly represented India alongside one other team. Their journey, spanning over a year with countless hours of dedication, reflected the essence of passion, determination, and collaborative spirit.

This remarkable journey from Candor International School to the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge has left us all in awe. Their unwavering dedication, passion, and ingenuity not only made history but also inspired countless individuals around the globe.
