JETRO Delegation Lauds Sri City’s World-Class Infrastructure and Japanese Industrial Presence
A delegation from the Chennai unit of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), led by Director General Mr. Kiyotaka Doho, Deputy Director Mr. Ken Tamura, and Advisor Mr. Yoshihiko Fujii, visited Sri City on Tuesday. They were received by Mr. Shivasankar, Senior Vice President (Marketing), who outlined the city’s integrated business ecosystem, advanced infrastructure, investor‑friendly policies, and expanding social amenities. He highlighted that global investors, particularly Japanese companies, are increasingly choosing Sri City for its unique advantages. He emphasised that JETRO’s networks and expertise would help showcase these strengths to prospective Japanese investors.
Annotating on the visit, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, remarked, “We are honoured to host the JETRO delegation. Their appreciation reinforces our commitment to world‑class infrastructure and vibrant social amenities. With Japanese enterprises expanding here, Sri City is firmly positioned as a preferred global manufacturing hub, fostering stronger Indo‑Japanese collaboration and sustainable growth.”
Thanking Sri City management for arranging the visit, Mr. Doho expressed admiration for the world-class infrastructure. The delegation was pleased to learn that Sri City is home to India’s second‑largest Japanese township, with many companies expanding operations. They acknowledged the growing social infrastructure designed for expatriates, which includes modern serviced apartments, diverse dining options, quality educational institutions, recreational hubs, and golf driving ranges.
As part of their visit, the team toured the industrial park and inspected production facilities, including Aisan, a leading manufacturer of automobile components, reaffirming Sri City’s role in Indo‑Japanese industrial cooperation.
JETRO, a Japanese government‑supported organisation, promotes mutually beneficial trade and investment relations between Japan and partner nations.
