AP CM offers Pattu vastrams to Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy
Vontimitta: As part of the ongoing Sri Kodandarama Swamy Brahmotsavams at Vontimitta in Kadapa district, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu along with his wife Smt Bhubaneswari Devi offered Pattu Vastrams to the presiding deity on the auspicious occasion of Sri Sitarama Kalyanam.
Earlier, the ChiefMinister was received with traditional Poornakumbham by the temple priests. On this occasion, the CM was presented with the Shesha Vastram and Vedic scholars offered Vedic blessings.Later, he was presented with the tirtha prasadams and a portrait of Vontimitta Sri Kodanda Rama.
Later the Chief Minister couple and the grand son Devansh participated in celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Srirama and Sitadevi.
On this occasion, the ”Edurkolu” ceremony stood as a cynosure during the wedding celebrations. Edurkolu stands significant in Telugu wedding ceremony and is often considered as a pre-wedding ritual where the bride’s family formally welcomes the groom and his family to the wedding venue, symbolizing the meeting of two families. It serves as a joyful, ceremonial introduction, often featuring playful banter and exchange of garlands.
During the ceremony, the temple priests, Srinivas participated on behalf of Ammavaru while Rajesh Swamy took the side of Swamivaru and carried out the ceremony in a joyous and colourful manner much to the admiration of devotees.
For the ceremonious divine wedding of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta the wedding platform was recreated with portraits of Lord Srirama and Sita devi reflecting Ayodhya.
