Fire Accident in Lucknow Coaching Center.. 15 Dead
A horrific fire accident took place on Saturday in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Panic gripped the entire area when a fire suddenly broke out in a prominent coaching center running inside a three-story building. It is learned that a large number of students were present in the building at the time of the accident. As the fire spread rapidly, dense smoke engulfed the area, causing severe suffocation to those inside, and it is reported that 15 people lost their lives.
However, the children inside the animation coaching center tried to save their lives by hiding in the toilet. Some tried to climb down by holding onto the drainage pipes. They called their parents and cried or wailed uncontrollably, asking to be saved somehow. Videos of some people on the lower floors jumping from the building to save their lives have gone viral. Several animals and birds in a pet shop located on the ground floor were burnt to death in the fire. 14 fire engines arrived and extinguished the fire. However, by then, the entire building was gutted.
There is no clarity yet on what caused the fire accident. UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that a high-level investigation has been ordered into the incident. Prime Minister Modi reacted to the fire accident. He announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each to the families of the deceased. He also stated that ₹50,000 would be given to the injured. Immediately upon learning about the accident, UP CM Yogi Adityanath cancelled his visit to Aligarh and reached Lucknow.
