What is Adkitta about?
Gautam and Kasturi are a happy, independent couple who have built a comfortable life away from their hometowns while focusing on their careers. Their decision to start a family, however, changes everything. After a difficult pregnancy and the birth of their premature son Omkar, the couple finds themselves trying to navigate the demanding world of parenthood while also keeping up with their professional lives.
As family responsibilities begin to compete with their careers, the couple welcomes Mangal, a nanny, into their lives to help care for Omkar. Initially, Mangal becomes the support system they desperately need, helping them navigate the challenges of new parenthood. But as Kasturi and Gautam grow increasingly dependent on her, the dynamics within their home begin to shift. Mangal slowly starts influencing their choices, routines, and household, until her presence begins to feel less like help and more like control.
What begins as a story of a young couple seeking support soon turns into a gripping exploration of trust, dependency and the boundaries of family and home.

Official Statements:
Sai Tamhankar, who plays Mangal said, “Mangal is a character who enters Gautam and Kasturi’s life at a very unexpected moment and slowly becomes an important part of their journey. What I found interesting about her is that there is much more to her than what meets the eye. Adkitta beautifully explores how people can arrive on the same page despite their differences because of one binding factor – love. The film has emotion, tension and a lot of heart, and I’m really happy that audiences will now get to experience this story on Zee 5 Global”.
Siddharth Chandekar, who plays Gautam said, “Gautam is someone who believes he has figured out his life, until parenthood changes the equation completely. I connected with the character because his confusion and struggle come from a very relatable place, wanting to be there for his family while also trying to build his career. Adkitta presents these situations with a lot of warmth and humour, but there is also a strong emotional journey underneath. I hope Gautam and Kasturi’s journey sparks conversations about the choices we make, the roles we play, and finding a balance between the two”.
Sakhi Gokhale, who plays Kasturi said, “Kasturi is an urban, independent woman who is navigating new motherhood in a nuclear family set up while also chasing her ambitions. A conflict so very common and yet unexplored makes Adkitta and Kasturi extremely relatable. Adkitta is a simple reflection of our lives while diving deep into the complexities we all tackle on an everyday basis”.
