Sweekar Agasthi, Rapper Asura’s Quirky Satirical Rap For Tharun Bhascker’s Gaayapadda Simham Unveiled
Tharun Bhascker’s upcoming entertainer Gaayapadda Simham, helmed by debut director Kasyap Sreenivas, ramped up excitement with it’s humour-filled traiser which was unveiled a few days ago to overwhelming response from all corners for its relatable tale and hilarious narrative. Produced by Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios, and presented by Pavan Sadineni, the makers today came up with a playful promotional rap song that captures the film’s satirical spirit.
The song dives into the protagonist’s chaotic world after US President Donald Trump’s massive deportation announcement flips his American Dream upside down. With trendy beats, rap-driven vocals by composer Sweekar Agasthi and rapper Asura, and lyrics penned by Sweekar (with Asura on rap verses), it blends witty satire and high energy. Sweekar’s contemporary instrumentation adds a fresh GenZ vibe, poking fun at rejection stamps on passports, towering Trump statues, and a hilarious “Happy Deportation” cake-cutting gag.
The video steals the show with vibrant choreography, spontaneous energy, and Tharun Bhascker nails deadpan humor amid absurdity, Vishnu Oi brings buddy vibes, and even a majestic lion symbolizes the title’s resilient “Gaayapadda Simham.” Sweekar and Asura join the fun on-screen, amplifying the playful chaos.
Maanasa Choudhary and Faria Abdullah are the heroines, while Harshavardhan, and Subhalekha Sudhakar will be seen in prominent roles.
Vidya Sagar Chinta handles the cinematography, Viplav Nyshadam takes care of editing, Chandrika Gorrepati oversees production design, and the story is penned by Surya Prakash Jyosula.
