Is Rana Daggubati Playing the Antagonist in Jai Hanuman?

Rana Daggubati, known for balancing acting with production and content driven ventures, has been selective about his on screen appearances in recent years. While he has reportedly turned down several projects, industry buzz suggests that he is currently shooting for director Prasanth Varma’s ambitious mythological epic Jai Hanuman.

According to ongoing speculation in film circles, Rana is expected to play a pivotal negative role in the film. Although the makers have not made an official announcement, reports indicate that his character will be one of the key highlights of the story.

A sequel to the blockbuster HanuMan, Jai Hanuman is being mounted on a much larger scale. Teja Sajja is set to reprise his role, while Rishab Shetty will portray Lord Hanuman, adding significant excitement to the project.

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the pan India film is said to feature extensive visual effects, large scale action sequences, and strong mythological elements. Prasanth Varma reportedly spent nearly two years developing the script after the success of HanuMan, with the aim of delivering an even bigger cinematic spectacle.

If production progresses as planned, Jai Hanuman is expected to hit theatres in the second half of 2027. An official confirmation regarding Rana’s role is still awaited.
