Montra Electric Redefines Logistics with New EVIATOR Variants for Urban and Intercity Routes
Montra Electric: In a significant move to decarbonize India’s commercial transport sector, Montra Electric, the EV arm of the Murugappa Group, has announced the expansion of its electric Small Commercial Vehicle (eSCV) lineup. By introducing two new variants—the EVIATOR 350 and the EVIATOR 350L+ the company is moving away from a “one-size-fits-all” approach toward a strategy driven by specific duty cycles and real-world data.
Data-Driven Engineering:
The expansion is backed by extensive intelligence gathered from Montra Electric’s existing fleet of over 600 vehicles, which have collectively covered more than 65 lakh kilometers. This data allowed engineers to identify two distinct needs in the market: high-efficiency urban runs and heavy-duty intercity transport.
The New Lineup:
The EVIATOR platform now offers three battery configurations to ensure fleet operators can optimize their total cost of ownership (TCO):
EVIATOR 350 (32kWh): Dubbed the “Last Mile Champion,” this variant is designed for short-distance urban logistics with daily runs of up to 140 km. It offers an accessible entry point into electric mobility starting at ₹14.58 lakh.
EVIATOR 350L (40kWh): The existing core pillar of the brand, which has already captured over 30% market share in the 3.5-ton segment since its 2025 debut.
EVIATOR 350L+ (50kWh): Known as the “Marathon Runner,” this high-capacity variant boasts a certified range of 300+ km (200+ km in real-world conditions). It is specifically built for intercity logistics and power-intensive applications like refrigerated transport (reefers). It is priced at ₹16.86 lakh.
A Strategic Shift in Electric Mobility:
According to Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director of Montra Electric, the next phase of EV adoption will be defined by how intelligently vehicles fit into actual business operations. By offering application-specific electrification, Montra Electric aims to help fleet operators maximize uptime—currently maintained at a signature 99% and improve overall return on investment.
Saju Nair, CEO of the e-SCV Division, emphasized that these new variants allow for greater precision in fleet deployment. Whether navigating congested city streets or hauling cargo between states, operators can now choose a battery size that matches their specific route requirements, eliminating “range anxiety” while reducing logistics costs.
The new EVIATOR range will soon be available at dealerships across India, where specialized comparison data will be provided to help customers calculate the most efficient ROI for their specific business needs.
