Karur Vysya Bank Expands Footprint with Simultaneous Opening of 16 New Branches
Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has expanded its physical presence by opening 16 new branches across southern India and Delhi NCR in a single day. This strategic expansion brings the bank’s total nationwide network to 919 locations. The newly inaugurated facilities comprise six branches in Tamil Nadu, five in Andhra Pradesh, three in Telangana, one in Karnataka, and one in Delhi NCR.
Telangana Presence Reaches 68 Locations:
The expansion increases KVB’s presence in Telangana to 68 locations, consisting of 66 general banking branches and two Retail Assets Processing Branches. Managing Director & CEO Shri Ramesh Babu led the launch by physically inaugurating the Gachibowli branch at Jayabheri Enclave in Hyderabad, while virtually inaugurating the remaining 15 branches across the country. The Kokapet branch was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Prabhu Kumar Challagali, President of the Indian Medical Association (Banjara Hills), while the Indhresham branch was opened by Chief Guest Shri S. Ajay Kumar Reddy, Commissioner of the Indhresham Municipal Corporation.
Strategic Rationale and Digital Integration:
Management emphasized that expanding physical branches complements KVB’s overall digital strategy. While everyday transactions occur digitally via platforms like the KVB DLite mobile application which offers over 150 financial and non-financial services physical locations remain critical for personalized service, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), retail clients, and agricultural customer segments.
Financial Performance Context:
The network expansion follows strong financial growth reported by the bank. As of June 30, 2026, KVB’s total business volume reached ₹2,27,267 crore, comprising deposits of ₹1,22,587 crore and advances of ₹1,04,680 crore. The bank also reported its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹756 crore for Q1FY27.
