Sreekar Prasad has reaffirmed the enduring importance of human intuition. Speaking during an insightful masterclass at the Annapurna College of Film and Media in Hyderabad, Prasad emphasized that while technology evolves, the heart of cinema will always reside in human emotion, conviction, and storytelling.

Addressing the integration of AI and advanced visual effects into modern workflows, Prasad challenged the narrative that automation might diminish the editor’s role. Instead, he argued that technological progress is actually elevating the necessity of editorial thinking. Advanced Previsualisation: He noted that 3D visualisation is becoming an essential tool, allowing directors and editors to collaborate earlier in the process to explore infinite audiovisual possibilities.

Production Efficiency: Strategic editorial planning early in the lifecycle helps strengthen story development and improves visual design, ultimately reducing unnecessary production waste while maximizing creative outcomes.

While acknowledging that AI can generate vast amounts of content with high technical efficiency, Prasad warned that cinema derives its unique power from “human imperfections, intuition, and unpredictability.” He posited that structural perfection often the hallmark of AI-generated content  cannot replicate the emotional resonance born from human conviction.
