Hero MotoCorp Upgrades Indias Most Trusted 125cc Bike with the New Super Splendor XTEC 2.0
NEW DELHI: Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has officially launched the all-new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0. Positioned as a major technology and design upgrade to India’s highly trusted 125cc commuter segment, the new motorcycle is engineered to offer superior fuel efficiency, modern connectivity, and enhanced rider safety.
Built on the legendary Splendor platform that has served millions of Indian riders since 1994, the XTEC 2.0 variant targets progressive commuters looking for dependable daily performance paired with next-generation features.
Refreshed Design and Premium Styling:
The Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 introduces a sharp, contemporary visual identity while maintaining its classic, reliable silhouette. Key styling updates include:
- Dynamic dual-tone body graphics paired with a vibrant new color palette.
- Signature XTEC 2.0 badging and a premium 3D emblem.
- A stylish stitched, dual-textured seat and eye-catching rim tapes that enhance its overall road presence.
Engine Performance and Best-in-Class Mileage:
At its core, the motorcycle is powered by a refined 124.7cc single-cylinder engine that generates 10.7 bhp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6000 rpm.
The defining highlight of the Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 is its best-in-class mileage of 72 kmpl. This high fuel efficiency is achieved through the integration of:
- Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection (APFI) technology.
- Hero’s i3S (Idle Stop-Start System), which automatically shuts off the engine during brief halts to save fuel.
- An Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that delivers a near-silent engine start and seamless restarts in dense traffic.
Segment-First Safety and Smart Connectivity:
Hero MotoCorp has heavily integrated technology into the XTEC 2.0 to elevate rider safety and convenience. For the first time in the Super Splendor series, the bike introduces segment-first Hazard Lights, allowing all four indicators to flash simultaneously during emergencies or breakdowns. It also features a front disc brake for confident stopping power and a handlebar-mounted engine kill switch.
For the modern connected rider, the motorcycle comes equipped with a Fully Digital Instrument Cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity. The digital console seamlessly displays:
- Incoming call alerts, missed call alerts, and caller ID.
- SMS notifications and phone battery status.
- A Real-Time Mileage Indicator (RTMi) and a Low Fuel Indicator.
Additionally, a handlebar-integrated 2 Amp USB Type-C charging port ensures that riders can keep their smartphones powered for calls and navigation throughout their journey.
Ergonomics Tailored for Daily Commutes:
To minimize rider fatigue during long daily commutes, the motorcycle offers optimized ergonomics, including a wide, upright handlebar and a relaxed riding posture. It features a long, comfortable seat with ample space for a pillion rider, a wide rear grab rail for stability, and a refined telescopic front suspension setup to smoothly navigate bumpy or unpredictable road terrains.
