Brembo and Ningbo SAFE Brakes Launch Joint Venture for Motorcycle ABS in India

India: Brembo, a global leader in mobility innovation, and Ningbo SAFE Brakes Systems, a prominent Chinese motorcycle ABS provider, have officially entered into a joint venture to establish BRSF Active Safety Solutions. This new entity is dedicated to the localized production and supply of Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) for the Indian motorcycle market.

Strategic Manufacturing in Pune:
The joint venture will operate from a dedicated manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune a strategic automotive hub located adjacent to the existing Brembo India plant.

Focus on Quality and Scale: The facility will utilize advanced, automated assembly lines to ensure industrial excellence.

Workforce: The plant is expected to employ approximately 50 people initially, with plans for progressive expansion aligned with production volumes and supply chain localization.

Market Alignment: By establishing local production, the partners aim to respond efficiently to India’s evolving safety standards and market requirements.

Enhancing Safety in the World’s Largest Market:
India is currently the world’s largest two-wheeler market, with nearly 25 million registered vehicles. As consumer awareness regarding road safety grows, the demand for advanced braking solutions is rising.

The joint venture will offer both single-channel and dual-channel ABS solutions, serving Original Equipment (OE) customers. The partnership also intends to introduce more advanced technology products in the future to keep pace with the industry’s technological shift.
