BirlaNu Debuts First Experience Centre in Vijayawada Strategic Move into South India Market
Andhra Pradesh: BirlaNu, a flagship entity of the multi-billion-dollar CKA Birla Group, reached a significant milestone today with the inauguration of its first Experience Centre in Vijayawada. Located on the bustling Mahatma Gandhi Road in Governorpet, the facility is designed to transform how architects, contractors, and homeowners interact with building materials by moving beyond traditional catalog-based selling.
Bridging the Gap in Building Materials:
The Indian building materials sector has historically relied on distributor recommendations and price-driven decisions, often leading to performance issues and expensive on-site rework. The Vijayawada Experience Centre addresses this by providing:
Live Demonstrations: Real-world application contexts for walls, floors, and pipes.
Direct Engagement: Hands-on evaluation of construction chemicals and putty.
Informed Specification: Allowing professionals to test material performance before purchase.
“South India has been a strategically important market for us,” said Mr. Akshat Seth, Managing Director and CEO of BirlaNu. “When a contractor can see how a product performs before committing to it on a project, that is a more durable basis for a commercial relationship. This is the first of what we intend to be a broader network across key markets.”
Strategic Location: The Amaravati Factor:
The choice of Vijayawada is a calculated move aligned with the region’s rapid infrastructure trajectory. With the development of Amaravati as a planned capital, the surrounding area is witnessing a surge in residential, commercial, and public construction.
BirlaNu has been steadily reinforcing its South Indian footprint, recently investing ₹127 crore in a fiber cement board plant in the SPSR Nellore district. This new customer-facing center in Vijayawada serves as the final link in the chain from manufacturing to consumer engagement.
