The Telugu community of Greater Toronto Area have celebrated "Diwali' with great enthusiasm at Michael Power High School at Etobicoke, Canada. Hundreds of Telugu families from surrounding cities Toronto, Markham, Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Waterdown, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Hamilton, Milton and other areas have joined the Six hour long program that is packed with music, drama, dance, comedy and many more.
Event started with Socialization. Received remarkable responses from the participants with a glow of happiness and sparkles of joy in participating this event successfully with full of family entertainment. Everyone enjoyed great varieties of South Indian food delights.
Effective planning and dedicated efforts by Executive committee Directors -, Govardhan Konda, Swati Kanakagiri, Sai Ram Somu and Maithri Chowdhary resulted in a successful execution of the event in all aspects right from colorful stage decoration, stupendous coordination among MC's and Performers, remarkable Front Desk Management welcoming the Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto (TCAGT) Guests, Sponsors, Members, Families and Friends. Worth mentioning the immense support provided by the volunteers who came from all over GTA and other cities.
The Festival has begun with Canadian National Anthem followed by Jyothi Prajwalana. Executive committee members, Trustees, and the event Sponsors lit the traditional Indian lamp.
TCAGT Secretary Devi Chowdhary delivered the welcome address and highlighted the Diwali event activities, unique programs that were presented to the community this year. She then introduced the Master of Ceremonies Udayasree, Shilpa, Ravi and Baswanth for the evening program to conduct.
Treasurer Vamsi Raj Sanghamreddy delivered festive greetings. He invited audience to participate and become members of the association to strengthen financially.
President Koteswara Rao Polavarapu appreciated Executive Committee, Trustees, Advisors, Sponsors and Friends for being part of event and their collaborated efforts as a team for making the event successful. He encouraged participants to join the TCAGT family and support the association for taking up more initiatives for the community. He also highlighted that TCAGT is a Platform for all Telugu families to expose their kids talent, youth and parents to improve connections and explore opportunities of interest across various fields and emerging technologies and most importantly to preserve the Telugu Cultural Heritage in Canada.
Chairman Board of Trustees Surya Bezwada informed the Telugu Community about the outstanding services that have been provided through this great TCAGT platform. He acknowledged the sponsors, executive committee members and trustees for their marvelous contributions, efforts and support to yearlong association events and activities.
Surya Bezawada introduced the distinguished guest of honor. He migrated to Canada in year 2000 with a Chemical Engineering graduation and received his MBA. He and his wife provided a great hospitality our Telugu Infrastructure minister Hon. Prasad Panda from Alberta who visited Toronto recently. He is a true friend of Telugu community and serving Mississauga-Malton community.
Guest of Honour Mr. Deepak Anand, Member of Provincial Parliament was felicitated by Chairman Board of Trustees, President Koteswara Rao Polavarpu, Sponsor Venkat Perugu and the former president Rao Vajha.
Hon Deepak Anand addressed the audience and provided his greetings. He applauded the founders, executive committee and Trustees of the largest and thirty years old Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto and its mission to preserve and promote Telugu cultural heritage in Canada. He then presented the awards to the committee members and sponsors for their outstanding service to the Telugu Community.
Audience acknowledged and applauded TCAGT for their vision, hard work, and awesome service to the Telugu Community in Canada.
Served the traditional delicious festive food items to the attendees.
p>Spectacular dance performances choreographed by Nagesh Konda enthralled all the ages of the community members. Mega musical night was performed by Singers Sandeep Kurapati, Divya Prasad and Ashritha.
Many attendees acknowledged the executive committee for the preserving and promoting Telugu language and culture for the past Thirty years.
Secretary Devi Choudhary provided vote of thanks and TCAGT event ended with chanting of Indian National Anthem. Indeed, TCAGT Diwali event has brought Festive Mood with fun, excitement and Sizzling performances.
