Danone India and Uttar Pradesh Government Launch Iron-Anthem to Combat Anemia Awareness

India  :  A simple school tiffin box can often reveal the stark reality of a child’s daily nutrition. Building on this everyday insight, Danone India, in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, has introduced a powerful new campaign anthem titled “India ka Iron Up karenge.” The initiative is designed to make awareness regarding iron deficiency and anemia more relatable, memorable, and actionable for families across the nation.

Developed in close association with the Directorate of Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, the 40-second film places children at the heart of the narrative. The film opens with the familiar sight of school lunchboxes some containing balanced meals and others filled with packaged snackshighlighting the nutritional gaps in daily diets. The story then transitions into a vibrant, child-led rally anchored by the catchy and rhythmic anthem: “India ka Iron UP Karenge, Abh nahi toh kab karenge…”

Children as the Messengers of Health:
By using children as the primary messengers, the film successfully shifts the tone of the conversation from medical instruction to community participation. It encourages families to reflect on their everyday nutritional habits and reinforces the message that regular iron intake is vital for a child’s growth, health, and cognitive development.

The television commercial (TVC) was conceptualized and brought to life by The Womb. By anchoring the health message in a relatable school setting, the film makes the often-invisible issue of iron deficiency both visible and urgent. The campaign concludes with a clear call to action for parents to rethink the contents of their children’s lunchboxes, emphasizing that consistent nutritional choices today lead to a stronger generation tomorrow. The closing sentiment, “Bachon ko roz iron khilayein. India ka bhavishya banayein!”, serves as a reminder that the nation’s future starts with a healthy diet.

This initiative is a key component of IRON UP!, Danone India’s extensive national movement dedicated to addressing iron deficiency and anemia. The movement focuses on early screening, widespread awareness, and deep community engagement.
