Rotary Club of Hyderabad East, one of the leading clubs in service activities presented Vocational Excellence Awards to few persons with excellence in their vocation in a function held in Film Nagar club, Hyderabad on Saturday, 2 March 2024.
Sri B Venkatesham, IAS, Secretary, School Education Govt of TS, who came as the Chief Guest to the occasion and presented the awards appreciated the Rotary Service activities and also the awardees for their achievements. He said that people by and large forget social responsibilities like keeping the environment clean, helping others at least in emergencies and Service activities being done by Rotary will remind them their role. Mr Venkatesham advised that Rotarians to bring their children also to Rotary activities in order imbibe service motto to them. He feels people instead of spending their hard earned money on child’s birthdays and other functions should think of service in any form.
On receiving the Award for her 50+ years in Film industry, actress Jaya sudha said that Rotary clubs carry out service activities and several film industry people and she also respect Rotary and she would cherish this award presented to her as it is an honour.
Mr Kadambari Kiran Kumar, who received the award for his services to needy people through Manam Saitham Kadambari Foundation said that he has been doing the service because of donors and he would continue to carry out the work. He said that he is planning to start a ‘Old Age home – Caring for the Uncared’ very soon and asked Rotarians to support it generously.
Mr Venkata Rama Reddy, popularly known as Whistle Ramana sang some songs through whistle and enthralled the audience. Dr Sai Padma, HOD- Bio Chemistry thanked Rotary club for recognising her and giving the award.
