Gajendra Moksham Pravachanam in Sri City

So as to encourage the traditional folk art forms of the region, under the aegis of Srivani, Sri City’s Spiritual and Literary Forum, Gajendra Moksham katha pravachanam by Pandita Kavi Sri Omti Ravi Bhagavatar was held on Saturday at the premises of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy mandir in Sri City.

The Bhagavatar portrayed Lord Vishnu's unique generosity, compassion, and magnificence while narrating the story from Srimad Bhagavatam, and underlined how one may get out of misery and suffering with God's grace. He concluded the narrative by emphasising that one should always remember God and seek his help, especially in times of great distress, and that God will always come to the aid of those who surrender to him with faith and devotion. The audience were spellbound and offered great encouragement to the artist, who exuded erudition and deep understanding of Srimad Bhagavatam.

Preceding the katha pravachanam, pooja was performed to the Lord, followed by a mass chanting of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam, in which a team of women from Mallavaripalem (West) village took part. With the collective chanting  they enriched the spiritual ambience of the place.

Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy expressed happiness at the active participation of the public from neighbouring villages in the event. Mr. Madhu Reddy, Head, Horticulture & Landscaping, and Mr. P. Balaji coordinated the arrangements. Besides the Sri City community, people from the surrounding villages attended the event.  All the devotees were given teertha prasadam and anna prasadam.
