Delegation from Sri Lanka will visit AP to study investment opportunities
The Chief Minister met with a team of Sri Lankan industrialists and entrepreneurs including Mr. Ashroff Omar, CEO of Brandix and ShiranthaHerath, Chairman of Southern Development Board and extended his support to establish their industries in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister told the team that they are interested to collaborate with the Sri Lankan government in the sectors of Horticulture, Tourism and Pharma industries.
“Our agricultural industry is witnessing a marvelous growth of 30 to 35% and our aqua culture is successful at a 40% growth rate”, said the Chief Minister.
He asked them to set up the delegation from Sri Lanka so that they can conduct a detailed study of possibilities of investments in the different sectors of Andhra Pradesh.
The team also presented a proposal for an Industrial Park in AP, spread across 600 acres, which are already identified.
They said that the relations between India and Sri Lanka, which they are extremely happy with, will be nurtured further byassociating with the AP government.
The Chief Minister said that the second-generation entrepreneurs have immense potential to do wonders in AP. “The delegation must conduct research and find ways to tap all the local resources intelligently”, he said.
He also congratulated the spokesperson from Brandix, a Sri Lankan apparel brand, operating out of Vishakhapatnam, that they have employed 18,000 people in their unit.
