“All Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse” (AAADA) Co-founder Ms. Anuja Keerthi Konda and team set up a stall at the India Republic Day celebrations event held on Jan 20, 2018 at Sunnyvale, California, organized by Association of Indo-Americans (AIA). AAADA team distributed a variety of printed fliers and booklets about the impacts of alcohol and drug abuse. Also, the AAADA team interacted with the guests at the event educating them about the negative impacts of alcohol and drug usage. The event was attended by over 1000 guests.
This event was also attended by many elected officials including California State Assembly Members Kansen Chu and Ash Kalra, Ex-Mayor and current Councilmember of City of Cupertino Savita Vaidhyanathan, Fremont City Councilmember Raj Salwan, Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith and Assistant Sheriff Rick Sung and other leaders from the community.
The elected officials Honorable Kansen Chu, Savita Vaidhyanathan, Raj Salwan, Laurie Smith and Rick Sung visited the AAADA stall and inquired about the efforts being made by Anuja and team. Officials were very pleased with the efforts by AAADA team and commended Anuja for her initiative, leadership, and volunteer work.
Speaking at this occasion, Anuja stated that AAADA’s focus is to educate children and young adults about the negative impacts of alcohol and drug usage. Anuja conveyed her thanks to the elected officials who visited the AAADA table, and AIA for the support and encouragement.
